Tax fun!
Just finished totalling the handful of checks for the three farms in VA. Yet one more task off my tax chore list.
Got W-2s mailed last week, and will be shipping off the W-3 and 943 on Monday. One check to write for the 943. Two sets or 1096s/1099s to mail off, too.
Probably a couple of hours of work to go, and then totalling the 1099s that arrive here, which seem to be doing so VERY slowly this year. Not too bad a to-do list for tomorrow, since we have not any bills on hand to pay, and I've generated paychecks for a couple of weeks ahead.
How is tax season going for you, gang?

Re: Tax fun!
Working on the books and gotten most of the 1099s and w-2 form. Don't have to deal with all the forms you do, thank goodness. Plenty of seminars to go to so the process will go slower than it looks.

Re: Tax fun!
W-2's done. Still waiting for 2 phone calls on the 1099's. Need to sit down and reconcile the recieved 1099's with the computer. major snowstorm due in here on Tuesday and Wed. Better do hog work on Monday. Save the bookwork for during the snowstorm. Hope the power stays on. 12-15" forcast right now with 25mph winds. Guess we won't get to go to Illinois Pork Conference on Wed.

Re: Tax fun!
By this time, I am usually pulling my hair out, but things have gone really smooth this year. I have my appointment on Friday night and I think I am 99% ready for it. Mark that down in the record books. I guess I kept up more on my bookwork than I thought this year.

Re: Tax fun!
A few 1099s have straggled in here, but the major ones are later than usual this year. I put them all in one safe place, and wait until about the end of the first week of February to open an review them all.
Am so miserable with this bronchitis today - have slept poorly for two nights straight due to coughing so hard, and haven't eaten anything yesterday or today. I did hobble out to the office, and got all my 1096/99 filings, W2/3 and 943 in the envelopes to drop in the mail today. Getting ready to pull on a warm hoodie and try to get an A&P test behind me today.
Am hoping to get well enough to take a nursing test tomorrow, and do clinicals TH/FR. Doctor at the quick care put me on antibiotics for three weeks yeaterday, plus a ton of decongestants and such.

Re: Tax fun!
I am finished with my entry into quicken. I received all my interest from the banks today, but I still need a few more 1099's and I will be ready. I usually take my paper work to the accountant and just leave it at the office. If he needs me he will call. I know just by glance we will pay and I hate it. I feel like we either have to buy equipment or pay Uncle Sam, and usually we buy something, but this year with everything going on, we have not had time to really worry about what tax time might be like, but in 4 more weeks we will know 😞
