Did you put a wye filter on them? We did on our sprinkler hose and it still gets plugged. Just not so often. Thank goodness it is now winter so we don't have to worry about that for another 5 months.

What in the world is a gopher machine?    Never heard of one.   Would get work for ground squirels?   This is what makes this place so great.   We get to learn about farming all over the nation.

A gopher machine attaches to the three point of a tractor, it has a spike blade/soil opener that opens up the ground so that treated milo can be available for all hungry gophers.  It has a press wheel that is supposed to press the soil back down (it doesn't).  I'll try to put a pix on my blog in the next few days.

Sounds interesting!  Wish there was something for our yard-hate stepping in those soft tunnels & turning your ankle.
