You might remember, if you've been here awhile, that some of us in IL & IA got together last spring in Davenport, IA.  It was sooo good to finally put faces & our real names together.  We met for lunch & had a good time chatting. 

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in doing this again & if so when & where would be the best time.  I would be willing to go a little farther or at another time if that would be best.  I know it's never a good time for everyone but how about it?  Care to join us?

As they say "good food, good friends, good wine" oh wait we didn't have wine last time.  Kay you will have to bring some home made wine lol

How would anyone feel about coming to Des Moines? I'm sure I could arrange for a tour of the Successful Farming/Meredith offices, and maybe the Better Homes & Gardens test kitchen and/or test garden. We have some great restaurants, local wineries, etc.

Let me know if anyone would like to do that, and I'd be happy to make arrangements!

I would love to go if my schedule allows.  I have been wanting to meet you all for a long time.  You figure out when and where works for the most of you and give me as much advance notice as you can.  I will do what I can to be there!  Most anywhere in Iowa would be too far for me to drive and back without losing a day of work so I would probably fly.  Just let me know.

I do have some vacation time I can use to travel somewhere.  Maybe we should do a series of get togethers..  One here on the eastern Iowa /western Illinois side,  One in Nebraska?  I should get out my list and see where everyone is from...except everyone wasn't on the Christmas list...and we have several from states a long ways from Iowa/Illinois.  Can everyone chime in with where they are from and we could go from there???

That's a good idea-several or maybe the one in Des Moines could be the BIG one where we could spend a weekend or something.  Maybe husbands?  (I'll have to think about that one, LOL)

Lisa's offer sounds really fun I just hesitate to commit right now with my FIL's health problems.

He's been doing quite well but they've started him on chemo pills & he is starting to get sick along with weakness from radiation.

I really miss the map we had on the old site.  There's been several times I've clicked on someone's profile hoping to find out what part of the country they're from & come up with a blank. 

Of our group last year, I'd say Sue might have the hardest time getting away until those pigs are gone.  I can usually get away for a day trip anytime.  My mom's got some dr. appointments I'll check on those dates.

We bought a new car yesterday and my DH is wanting to visit some antique shops in NW IL. This is being planned for before the end of March? My life gets really busy after that, in fact it is starting next week.

I am envious.  I love antiquing and Ed hates it.  Can't imagine a DH who wants to visit antique shops!  You have a gem there!

I would love to meet somewhere in maybe KY or WV...I can sometimes get Mike to travel if there are mountains involved.  He will do just about anything to get off of this flat land.  Of course, we'd have to camp in a campground, so he can haul his toys! 

I can stash a lot of wine in a 44-foot trailer....
