I can do Des Moines too.  I am sure that would have to be a weekday for SF headquarters/Meridith Corporation, as they woudn';t do Saturday tours I wouldn't think.  Any tour would be fun along with lunch whatever area we choose.  And maybe we are talking about two or more get togethers.

If the stars are aligned just right, I may be able to get to the Des Moines get together. Too many things on my plate to know from one day to the next what will occur so don't know my schedule will be too far in the future.

Hope that all that are meeting in March will have a good fun time and match many faces with the names on this site.

Like minds, think alike!!!  I have trouble planning too far ahead too.  Guess that is why I can't plan a vacation with the family.  They always think that it is funny here at work that I say, when I call, I'll be gone!  I always say "oh, sometime in July, early August.

I'm glad I'm not the only one like that.  It's hard somedays to plan 2 hrs. ahead without having things change.  I was supposed to pick up my grandkids today when chores were over (oldest wants to learn to sew) but strep throat changed those plans.  I don't want to get it, especially being with my FIL.  I think farm folks understand being unable to plan; especially with livestock.

Suppose we should try to get something planned here for March.  The John Deere pavillion is interesting & Isabelle Bloom  is in Moline; there were a few restaurants nearby (TGI Friday's, another one River Station?,) and the botanical center is just down the road in Rock Island.  I will try & find out about Davenport.  I know there are interesting shops in Old Town but don't know much about them.

I like the Des Moines idea too.  It's a long drive (anything over 1 1/2 hrs is long to me) but I'm sure I could figure something out or some of us could go together. 

So, who's in for the end of March in the Davenport, Quad City area?  One day or two?

Don't know exactly where the SF office is but where I used to hit in the east side & center of Des Moines it was about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs past Davenport.  Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.  My neice lives on the w. side & I know it takes a good 3 hrs. to get there from here. (I'm about 1 hr. from Davenport.)

As long as we aren't driving during the rush and especially on 80/35 on the north side, it should be nearly the same. I-235 isn't nearly as bad for traffic. I think SF is in the center-west part of DSM, but not as far as West Des Moines. The fairgrounds takes a good 5-6 hours with a trailer from here.

Not that I need to know the exact place yet but do we know the final decision on the city?
