got a call last night about a bil being diagnosed with lung cancer.
Only around 50 years old. Apparently got the diagnosis of lung cancer about 3 weeks ago and yesterday they found spots on his brain.
And to add to their burden. They have one son. special needs. Multiple problems and they can't find any programs for him. They even moved to another county to try and help the situation but everything keeps losing funding. He turned 29 this past September even though when he was born his life expectancy was about 19 years and is quite healthy I believe ever since they fixed the hole in his heart years ago. Doesn't really have much speech and apparently didn't like the group home they tried to put him in. Can be quite a hand full when he gets upset though.
Bil has always worked for GM although since the industry crash he has been living week days away from home because the local stuff closed. She has done this and that., Was a cop for a while then worked as a security guard now she works counseling troubled teenagers.
Little information really but I am assuming Jim is terminal. He will be the 3rd bil to go way too young. One died of a heart attack 17 or 18 years ago another died of brain cancer 2 years ago. A 3rd is a survivor of prostate cancer and now Jim. Daughter said they had decided not o do any treatments for the lung cancer, waiting to hear their decision now that they know it is spreading rapidly obviously. Jim had passed an annual work physical about a month ago then thought he got pneumonia (common in Michigan with the kind of fall weather we've been having) but they diagnosed the lung cancer. Don't know why they must of done some kind of scan to find the spots on the brain., perhaps because sil had noted some cognitive problems.
